Mediasystem was founded by Christian Schweighofer in 1995. Most of the technicians who would build your system have been here since close to the beginning.
How we got here
From a product list to a problem list
Mediasystem started in Gleisdorf, Austria, as a specialist trading company for audio, video and lighting equipment. It did not stay one for very long.
Within a few years the enquiries had stopped being about products. A museum wanted to know whether an idea was buildable at all. A university wanted a lecture theatre that a visiting professor could operate without a briefing. A food producer wanted visitors to understand a price point without being told it out loud.
Answering those questions turned a distributor into a systems integrator, and then into something more specific: a firm that is comfortable at both ends — the part that simply has to work, and the part nobody has built before.
No project too small. So far, no task too difficult.
Three decades on, we hold Austrian distribution partnerships for Panasonic and Sony professional equipment, our programmers carry current Crestron, AMX, Q-SYS and Dante certifications, and we have delivered six state exhibitions. We are now doing the same work in the Gulf.

Christian Schweighofer founded the company and still leads it. Thirty years in one industry produces a particular kind of knowledge: not only what the equipment does, but what tends to go wrong with it in year four, and which promises in a manufacturer's brochure survive contact with a real room.
Great enthusiasm and dedication distinguish our technicians, and the majority have been with the firm since it was founded. That continuity is the reason the engineer who designs a system is also the one who commissions it.
How we work
Three habits worth knowing about in advance
We say no early
If an idea will not survive ten years of daily operation, or the budget will not carry it, you should hear that in week one rather than at commissioning. Changing a concept is cheap. Changing an installation is not.
The designer commissions
The engineer who draws your system is the one standing in the room when it is switched on for the first time. Nothing is handed across an internal wall, so nothing gets lost going over it.
Documented for the next person
As-built drawings, signal schedules, commissioning records and operator training. The measure of a good handover is whether you still need us afterwards — and you should not.
